Privacy Policy
Says Who ("we", "us") is operated by Eliot Guthrie. This policy explains what we collect when you use Says Who by text message at (484) 729-7946 and on this website, and what we do with it.
What we collect
- Your mobile phone number and the text messages you send us.
- Places you save, including names, addresses, map links, notes, hashtags, and photos you send. Photos may be analyzed to identify a place.
- Your location, only when you text it to us or share a place that includes one.
- Your friend connections (people who joined through your invite link or yours).
- Basic usage and delivery data such as timestamps and message status.
- If you subscribe, billing is handled by our payment processor. We do not store card numbers.
How we use it
- To save your places and reply to your texts.
- To show you places saved by your friends and friends of friends.
- To make one-pagers and trip recaps you ask for.
- To run, secure, and improve the service, and to prevent abuse.
What other people can see
Your saved places can be shown to your friends and, depending on your visibility setting, to friends of friends, along with your first name. Your phone number is never shown to other users. Photos you send are private to you unless you choose to share them.
Beta
During the beta, people who join without an invite are connected to Eliot, who runs Says Who, and through him to each other. Other beta members may see the places you save, and you may see theirs, as described above. Eliot can see all saved places. Your phone number is still never shown to other members.
Who we share data with
We use service providers to run Says Who: a messaging provider to send and receive texts, a database and hosting provider, mapping and place-lookup services, an AI provider to read messages and photos, and a payment processor. They process data only to provide those services to us.
We do not sell your personal information. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
Text messages
We text you only after you text us first. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out and HELP for help.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. Text DELETE MY DATA to (484) 729-7946 or email eliotguthrie@gmail.com and we will delete your account, saves, and photos, except what we must keep by law.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards, including encryption in transit and access controls. No system is perfectly secure.
Age
Says Who is for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above.
